Holden Summers is a working magician based in New York. He performs close-up and parlor magic in the classical tradition, drawing on the work of Max Malini, Stewart Judah, Dai Vernon, Paul Le Paul, U. F. Grant, Charlie Miller, J. B. Bobo, Francis Carlyle, Sol Stone, David Roth, Jim Steinmeyer, and Lee Asher.
The current parlor set is five pieces: linking rings, the egg bag, silks, a cut and restored rope, and either balls in net or the cups and balls, depending on the setting and the night. The close-up repertoire includes Triumph, the Gymnastic Aces, and the Homing Card. Alongside, three original close-up routines in cards, coins, and dice, developed over the past decade.
Recent work includes a parlor set in continuous performance for three years and an hour-long illusion show in preparation.
